The Olympic Flag was then created in 1914 for the Olympic Jubilee Congress (celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Olympic movement). The Olympic Rings on the Olympic Flag made its first appearance at the 7th Olympic Games in 1920 in Antwerp. ![[IMG_4828.png]] The official Olympic Flag has 5 rings which are interlaced and are coloured, from left to right, as follows: 1. Blue 2. Yellow 3. Black 4. Green 5. Red The 5 rings seen on the flag represent the 5 continents (Asia, Africa, Oceania, Europe and the Americas) N.B. It’s a common myth that the colours of the rings represent specific continents. The colours are just a general representation of the diversity of the games, with these five colours featuring on most countries flags. ### Resources Olympic Rings - Symbol of the Olympic Movement https://www.olympics.com/ioc/olympic-rings Olympic Symbols Wikipedia https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Olympic_symbols
